Job Description

Payroll Specialist | Fully Remote (US) or Dallas-Based | Cross-Border US & Canada

A fast-growing technology infrastructure business, operating large-scale data centre and cloud computing operations across the US and Canada, is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their finance team. This role is open to fully remote candidates anywhere in the US, or candidates based in Dallas.

The Role

You'll own end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse workforce across both countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a strong employee experience. This includes:

  • Managing full-cycle payroll for salary, hourly, and casual employees across the US and Canada, including overtime, on-call, and call-out pay
  • Validating complex payroll calculations such as retroactive payments, parental leave, and payroll adjustments
  • Administering benefits programs including 401(k) and RRSP contributions, and ensuring compliance with plan rules and tax requirements
  • Acting as primary liaison with outsourced payroll providers (ADP) across both countries
  • Overseeing reconciliation of government remittances and year-end filings, including T4, W-2, ROE, and Form 941/940
  • Supporting the Finance team with SOX-compliant payroll processes and controls

About you

  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian and US payroll legislation
  • Business Administration diploma/degree or equivalent
  • Experience with 401(k) and RRSP benefits administration
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable working independently under deadlines
  • CPP/CPM certification, ADP experience, and prior cross-border (US/Canada) payroll exposure are all strong advantages, though not essential

Why this role

This is a genuinely broad, end-to-end payroll function within a business that's scaling fast, offering equity participation, strong benefits (fully paid medical/dental/vision for employees), and real internal mobility. Fully remote across the US, or based in Dallas.
