Role Overview
This is a pivotal product leadership role for a mission-driven education organization rebuilding its core platform into a next-generation, AI-native product. The organization’s model centers on the trusted human relationship between students and volunteer tutors, using AI to amplify tutor effectiveness, personalize support, align sessions with classroom curriculum, and improve student outcomes without replacing human connection. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will define the product vision, lead a design-first rebuild, and shape the future of a platform built to scale high-impact tutoring to many more students.
What You'll Do
- Own the product vision and strategy in close partnership with the CEO, CTO, AI tutoring product lead, and program leadership, helping define and evangelize the roadmap for the next-generation tutoring platform.
- Lead a design-first rebuild of the core product experience, including onboarding, activation, support, the live tutoring experience, and potential between-session learning workflows.
- Champion a seamless, joyful user experience for students, volunteer tutors, families, and staff by translating complex user needs into intuitive, elegant product solutions.
- Drive thoughtful AI integration focused on reducing tutor friction, deepening human connection, improving learning outcomes, and providing useful context to tutors and students.
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and program teams to turn product and program strategy into a clear, actionable roadmap that can ship in a scrappy, high-ownership environment.
- Define success metrics tied to real impact, including student agency, learning gains, tutor satisfaction, volunteer retention, and the quality of the student-tutor relationship.
