💰 Compensation & Perks

• Salary: $250K – $350K base + competitive equity

• Location: San Francisco, 5 days/week onsite (strict — they tried remote and it was a "complete nightmare")

• Visa: H-1B and O-1 sponsorship available

• Travel: Minimal — maybe 1 week/quarter onsite at a customer

AIUC-1 is "SOC 2 for AI agents" — the certification standard for safety, security, and reliability of agentic AI systems. They've already certified ElevenLabs, Intercom, and UiPath, and partner with Stanford, MITRE ATLAS, OWASP, and Schellman. $15M seed led by Nat Friedman (NFDG), with Emergence, Terrain, an Anthropic co-founder, and ex-CISOs from Google Cloud and MongoDB. Founded by Anthropic's first product and commercial hire alongside the youngest partner in McKinsey's global insurance practice. At product-market fit, can't keep up with demand.

🎯 Why This Role Exists

This is not a traditional engineering role. It's a hybrid: 50% heads-down technical work (writing evals, integrating with customer systems via SDK/API, browser automation) and 50% customer-facing (sales calls, presentations, white-glove client interaction with C-suite). Think: fractional CTO who runs AI safety certifications for the biggest names in agentic AI. The current person in this role is a multi-time CEO who handles 3+ clients simultaneously with extreme ownership.

⚙️ What You'll Do

• Deeply familiarize yourself with each customer's agentic AI product.

• Integrate with their system — SDK, API, browser automation, whatever it takes.

• Design and create 500–10,000 evaluation tests per engagement based on AIUC's risk taxonomy.

• Execute tests, judge outputs, package results, and present findings directly to customer engineering leadership.

• Handle 3+ clients simultaneously, scaling to 10+ within 6 months.

• Optionally join early sales calls to build trust with technical credibility.

✅ Must-have qualifications

• Software engineering background — mid-level equivalent at a good company.

• Startup or entrepreneurial experience — founder, co-founder, founding engineer, or early-stage CTO.

✨ Nice to have

• AI evaluation, red-teaming, or safety experience.

• Product-market-fit startup experience (not just pre-PMF).

• Side projects, blogs, open-source — "work is play" signal.

• Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
