To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in clinical data science, statistical programming, or clinical data management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or related environments is required. Technical proficiency in SAS, R, Python, and SQL is essential, along with familiarity with CDISC SDTM/ADaM standards. Experience with version control systems such as Git and knowledge of oncology endpoints, RECIST criteria, survival analysis, and real-world data (RWD) is highly advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
In this role, the Clinical Data Scientist will be responsible for converting raw clinical data—whether manually abstracted, AI-processed, or extracted from electronic medical records—into standardized formats like SDTM or client-specific data models. Building analysis-ready datasets from diverse sources such as EDC systems and internal abstraction tools is a core duty, enabling accurate and efficient downstream analysis. The role also involves developing and generating Tables, Listings, and Figures (TLFs) for clinical study reports and interim analyses using SAS, R, or Python, ensuring statistical rigor and clarity.
Maintaining data integrity through comprehensive cleaning, validation, and discrepancy investigations is crucial to distinguish genuine clinical signals from upstream data errors. The candidate will partner with engineering teams to automate workflows, streamline data validation processes, and serve as an internal customer for new data infrastructure tools. Documentation of data specifications, derivation logic, reviewer guides, and regulatory deliverables like Define.xml is essential for audit readiness and compliance. Additionally, supporting ad hoc analyses and exploratory data queries helps demonstrate the value of the data platform to internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring all data handling complies with privacy, security, and regulatory standards such as HIPAA underscores the importance of ethical data management practices.
