Senior / Lead Platform Engineer - GCP & Azure - Fully Remote (UK Only)

A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support a large-scale Azure to GCP migration programme. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in designing, building, and optimising a modern, cloud-native platform as part of a strategic transformation initiative.

The Role:

You will be responsible for driving the migration of existing workloads from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring a seamless transition while improving scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can operate across both environments, implement best practices, and contribute to a long-term multi-cloud strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support the end-to-end migration from Azure to GCP, including architecture, planning, and execution
• Design and manage Kubernetes-based platforms and containerised workloads
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible) for both Azure and GCP environments

• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar)
• Ensure strong security, governance, and compliance across both cloud platforms
• Implement monitoring, observability, and cost optimisation strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernise applications and infrastructure

Required Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with both Azure and GCP (essential)
• Proven track record delivering or contributing to cloud migration projects (Azure → GCP preferred)
• Solid experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
• Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code principles
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
