Site Reliability Engineer

Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading insurance organization, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Hartford, CT office (hybrid, 2 days onsite). In this role, you’ll take ownership of building out the SRE function, driving frameworks for monitoring, dashboards, and proactive reliability standards as the organization moves to the cloud and modern application stacks.

· Enterprise-wide impact — first SRE in the organization, building from the ground up

Required Qualifications of the right candidate:

· 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering roles (with at least 4 years focused on SRE)

· Strong background in CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native environments (Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, AppInsights)

· Proven track record designing and maintaining SLAs, SLOs, SLIs for distributed systems

· Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, logging, dashboards, and incident response processes

· Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with development, infrastructure, and architecture teams

· Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field preferred

Responsibilities:

· Define and measure service reliability through SLOs, SLAs, SLIs across enterprise applications

· Lead proactive monitoring and observability initiatives (Dynatrace, AppInsights, plus new tooling recommendations)

· Partner with development and DevOps teams to integrate reliability frameworks into CI/CD pipelines

· Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident response efforts

· Develop dashboards to surface real-time health metrics and resolve issues before they reach end users

· Influence organizational best practices around cloud operations, monitoring, and resiliency
