Job Title: Data Quality Engineer – Cloud & Automation Focus

Location: Virtual (Preferably East Coast)

Schedule: M-F, 9am–5pm EST

Important Note:

This is a remote role but client is preferring only folks located in Eastern States.

This role focuses on testing and ensuring the quality of complex cloud-based data pipelines, unlike a normal tester who typically works on application UI or functional testing.

About this Role:

• This role is focused on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of large and complex data sets within cloud-based environments. The primary responsibilities involve designing, developing, and executing automated and manual tests for data pipelines, databases, and applications using tools like Python, SQL, and Snowflake.
• The engineer will work to validate data processing, integration, and transformation across multiple sources, while also participating in the development of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• In essence, the role combines data engineering knowledge with quality assurance practices to verify that data is reliable, consistent, and meets business and technical requirements.

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Data Quality Engineer to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data in their cloud-based systems. The engineer will design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests for data pipelines, databases, and applications, while contributing to automation frameworks and CI/CD practices.

Top 3 Must Have Skills:

• Total Overall Testing experience (10 yrs preferred)
• AWS & Snowflake – data access and services (5 years)
• Python & SQL – code and test development (5 years)
• Testing methodologies and automation frameworks (8 years)

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and validate large datasets across Snowflake, AWS, and other cloud data sources.
• Develop scripts and automation using Python, SQL, and testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Great Expectations).
• Collaborate with the team to ensure data quality, regression, performance, and operational monitoring.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline integration and testing.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Python, SQL, Snowflake, and AWS.
• Hands-on experience in data testing, automation frameworks, and large dataset validation.
• Knowledge of APIs, Git/GitHub, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Airflow, dbt, performance testing, and cloud orchestration tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
