🔌 Protection Systems Engineer – Grid Automation
📍 Location: Latvia | 🏠 Hybrid (office/home) | ✈️ ~50% Travel
We’re supporting our client in the search for a highly skilled Protection Systems Engineer to join their expanding grid automation team in Latvia.
If you have a solid background in power systems and a passion for high-voltage protection technologies, this role offers a chance to make a real impact in the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and commission HV substation protection systems
- Verify designs and ensure compliance with local regulations
- Act as a technical lead and liaise with project stakeholders
- Support protection settings calculations and documentation
- Deliver client training and aftersales support (incl. on-site)
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma in protection or electrical engineering
- Strong experience with protection relays & HV/MV systems
- Knowledge of industry standards, protocols & networking
- Fluent in Latvian and proficient in English
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to travel (~50%)
- Familiarity with relays like Micom Px40 or Multilin UR
- Networking experience (switches, routers, gateways)
