This position requires relocation to our Malaysian office with relocation assistance provided.

Build your dream team
This is your chance to create an engineering powerhouse. Recruit and onboard experienced developers and engineers to work with you at Deriv. These senior engineers will provide technical leadership, management, and mentoring for their younger teammates around the world. Help us also hire talented junior engineers around the world to grow our current team of 100+ back-end and front-end developers.
Lead a global engineering team
The engineering team is based in different time zones, working on multiple projects simultaneously. Functioning as small, independent teams will liberate developers to work faster and with more efficiency. Provide consistent coaching and direction. Inspire the team to never stop innovating.
Travel and coordinate
Collaborate with other offices, management, and cross-functional teams. Travel overseas to visit other Deriv offices — including Malta, Malaysia, Cyprus, and Dubai — engage with the global team in person, and build stronger bonds.
What you have
- 20+ years of experience
- Successful leadership experience in managing engineering teams
- Strong technical abilities in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and other cloud technologies
- Deep experience with databases such as PostgreSQL
- Strong software development skills in C++, Perl/PHP, or other languages.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- Outstanding communication and people skills
