The Support Engineer (Snowflake and dbt expert) full-time-contractor responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • the provisioning of timely and effective technical support to business and technical stakeholders via various channels, including email, Slack and Zoom.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Snowflake, dbt (from dbt Labs.), and related technologies.
  • Assist customers with data loading, transformation, and querying within the Snowflake ecosystem.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and data quality issues.
  • Reproduce and debug customer issues in a development environment.
  • Document and share knowledge with the support team and broader organization.
  • Contribute to the improvement of our support processes and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and address potential customer issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve product stability and usability.
  • Participate in shift handover and weekend on-call support to provide 24/7 support coverage (shall be time-compensated).


Qualifications

Must have / required for this role is sought candidates who:

  1. Have 4+ years of experience in providing technical support in a fast-paced environment;
  2. bring a strong understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts;
  3. have deep expertise in Snowflake and dbt (including dbt Cloud);
  4. must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.

Expected and/or from advantage are:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python) is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for customer satisfaction and a strong desire to help others.


Whilst this is a Mondays through Fridays, 100% remote job and there is no contractual expectation to work on weekends, the Support Engineer should be flexible to support on weekend "critical deliveries". Obviously, she/he shall be compensated lawfully and fairly for such work exceptions.
