We are currently working with a fast-growing Web3 gaming company focused on delivering cutting-edge gaming experiences powered by blockchain technology. By leveraging NFTs, decentralized finance (DeFi), and play-to-earn mechanics, they aim to revolutionize the gaming industry. They are looking for a strategic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead their technology initiatives and oversee the development of their innovative gaming platform. This role is fully remote.

Role Overview:

As the CTO, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s technology strategy. You will lead the development of their Web3 gaming platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and built with the latest innovations. In addition, you will build and manage a distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across remote teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Strategy & Vision:
• Develop and communicate a clear technology strategy that aligns with business goals.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in Web3 technologies, including blockchain, NFTs, DeFi, and metaverse platforms.
• Define and prioritize key technology initiatives that support the company’s objectives and product roadmap.
• Platform Development & Architecture:
• Lead the creation and scaling of a secure, high-performance Web3 gaming platform.
• Manage platform architecture and infrastructure, ensuring reliability and optimal performance.
• Enforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
• Oversee the security of smart contracts and blockchain integrations.
• Team Leadership & Management:
• Build and manage a distributed, high-performing engineering team, including software developers, blockchain engineers, and QA professionals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in a remote work environment.
• Provide mentorship to team members across multiple time zones.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews for the engineering team.
• Blockchain & Web3 Integration:
• Spearhead the integration of blockchain technologies into the gaming platform, focusing on smart contracts, NFTs, and tokenomics.
• Develop strategies to incorporate DeFi and other Web3 elements into the gaming experience.
• Keep up-to-date with the Web3 ecosystem to identify and act on opportunities for innovation.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure platform security and protect user data with best-in-class security measures.
• Stay informed of evolving regulations around blockchain technology and gaming.
• Oversee regular security audits and penetration testing.
• Product Collaboration:
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate product vision into technical execution.
• Provide technical guidance on the product roadmap and feature prioritization.
• Ensure smooth integration of technology with the overall gaming experience.
• Vendor Management:
• Manage relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
• Evaluate and select technology solutions and services that support the company’s objectives.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Proven track record as a CTO or senior technology leader in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong background in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Expertise in blockchain technologies, NFTs, and DeFi.
• Experience with game development and platforms like Unity or Unreal Engine is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
• Experience managing remote engineering teams.
• Skills:
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly in a remote setting.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to execute on tactical plans.
• Deep understanding of Web3 technologies and the gaming industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity, JavaScript, or C++.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Expertise in remote collaboration tools.
• Education:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing distributed, global teams.
• Familiarity with tokenomics.
