What does a day in the life as a Systems Administrator look like?
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot MacOS systems.
- Ensure MacOS security hardening (encryption, firewall, endpoint security).
- Deploy and manage corporate-approved applications for MacOS.
- Ensure timely software updates and patch management across all company devices.
- Enforce license compliance and software inventory tracking.
- Perform IT asset management, ensuring accurate tracking of all company devices.
- Configure and manage Wi-Fi policies for remote employees.
- Ensure device encryption and remote wipe capabilities for lost/stolen devices.
- Administer and configure JAMF Pro for Mac device management, security enforcement, and policy configurations.
- Deploy and maintain JAMF Connect for seamless Okta-based authentication and user provisioning.
- Implement Device Trust policies to ensure secure access based on device posture and compliance.
- Monitor and enforce MacOS security policies (e.g., encryption, software updates, compliance checks).
- Ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding of employees, automating provisioning processes when possible.
- Support GSuite security best practices, including email security, access controls, and DLP policies.
- Maintain Google Workspace (GSuite) user accounts, security settings, and data policies.
- Sees tasks through to completion and offers support as needed
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates, leadership, and client contacts
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What are the required qualifications for a Systems Administrator?
- At least 2+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or similar role.
- Experience with MacOS environment management.
- JAMF Pro Proficiency: Experience administering and configuring JAMF Pro for Mac device management and has the ability to deploy and maintain JAMF Connect.
- Knowledge of Okta or other similar authentication platforms.
- IT Asset Management: Experience with IT asset management and software inventory tracking.
- Google Workspace (GSuite) Administration: Experience managing Google Workspace user accounts, security settings, and data policies.
- Knowledge in Blockchain technology is a good must have.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
- MacOS expertise: Proficient in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting MacOS systems and has a strong understanding of MacOS security hardening (encryption, firewalls, endpoint security) as well as software updates and patch management for MacOS.
- Knowledge of implementing Device Trust policies within JAMF.
- Understanding of GSuite security best practices (email security, access controls, DLP).
- Endpoint Security: Knowledge of endpoint security solutions and their implementation as well as experience with device encryption and remote wipe capabilities.
- Networking: Ability to configure and manage Wi-Fi policies.
