Cititec Talent has partnered with a financial services consultancy to find a hands-on DevOps/Kubernetes Engineer. The financial institution is assembling a high-performing team to modernise its data provisioning technology, transitioning from on-premises systems to a Kubernetes-based microservices environment.
In this role, you’ll be pivotal in shaping the design and implementation of a robust software stack for large-scale batch processing. You’ll work across physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud systems, driving the evolution of data architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration from Hadoop to a modern Kubernetes environment.
- Architect, implement and optimise ETL pipelines and batch processing solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure data solutions.
- Establish best practices and ensure observability for efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Experience in the banking sector or a closely related financial industry is essential.
- Proven expertise in Kubernetes, including implementation, architecture, hands-on migration, and ensuring secure deployment and operation.
- Strong knowledge of batch processing with Spark.
- Expertise in cloud storage solutions, particularly the S3 engine.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with automation and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with managing large data clusters using Hadoop.
- Experience with on-premises systems and container management using Linux/RHEL.
