Utilizing blockchain, SORAMITSU has developed a digital currency for the National Bank of Cambodia, a CBDC Proof-of-Concept with the Bank of the Lao PDR, a closed-loop payment system for the University of Aizu in Japan, an identity verification system prototype for Bank Central Asia in Indonesia, we were finalists in the Monetary Authority of Singapore CBDC Challenge, and are currently participating in Asia-Pacific's first proof-of-concept test of a cross-border, multi-currency security settlement system using distributed ledger technology with the Asian Development Bank. We have also conducted proof-of-concept tests for several major Japanese enterprises, and are active contributors to open source projects, such as Klaytn, South Korea's leading Layer-1 blockchain, KAGOME, the C++ Polkadot Host implementation, the SORA crypto-economic system, the Polkaswap DEX, and the DeFi wallet, Fearless Wallet

We are looking for a talented Android developer who shares a passion for Blockchain technology.

You will be responsible for:

• Design, implement and support mobile applications.
• Write tests which will cover the major amount of functionality and non-functional requirements.
• Perform code review for other mobile developers.
• Participate in architecture meetings and take part in making architecture decisions.
• Provide knowledge transfer inside the company (document important parts of the system, provide workshops or lectures inside the company)
• Analyze requirements and select technologies which will speed up implementation keeping quality on the needed level.
• Provide estimations for all related tasks.
• Perform issue- and bug-fixing.
• Select and integrate frameworks and libraries which will be the part of software systems.
  
  
  

You need to have:

• Experience in Kotlin, with a fair knowledge of the language specification.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science is an advantage.
• 2+ years of pertinent experience at the similar senior position.
• Knowledge of software engineering processes.
• Experience in designing software solutions.
• Experience with Google Play Approval & Distribution Process.
• Experience with Jetpack compose.
• Participation as a key role engineer in at least one successful project.
  
  
  

Would be nice if you had:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of how Android mobile platform works.
• Deep knowledge of Java/ Kotlin languages along with Android SDK, including using main components, networking, animations and data transferring formats.
• Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks (Hilt, Dagger is a plus)
• Experience in reactive programming (kotlin coroutines)
• Experience building mobile UI with Material Design approach and using animations.
• Proficient in designing mobile applications with design patterns (MVI, MVVM, MVP, etc.), application of SOLID design principles.
• Good understanding of building tools for the Android platform.
• Experience in blockchain-related projects will be appreciated.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• High level of Git usage experience, along with related workflows.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL data storage approaches and database design.
• Good understanding of networking principles and related design.
• Experience with multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
• Experience with code generation tools.
• Skilled at writing tests (test-driven approach is preferred), experience in UI testing.

This is a remote position. Our distributed team is mostly spread across Europe and Asia. Team meetings are held generally during European working hours, and it is expected that you would adapt if necessary and be available accordingly.
