Human Resources Generalist
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 annually
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist for a direct hire opportunity with one of our valued clients. This fully remote position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing employee relations, compliance, and full-cycle recruiting responsibilities.
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across a geographically dispersed workforce, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, benefits administration, and recruiting. This role requires strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Partnership
- Serve as a trusted Human Resources resource for managers and employees across a fully remote workforce.
- Coach managers through employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, conduct, communication, and workplace concerns.
- Assess employee issues, recommend appropriate resolutions, and ensure consistent application of company policies.
- Support performance management initiatives, including coaching, documentation, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Balance employee advocacy with organizational objectives while maintaining confidentiality.
Compliance & Human Resources Administration
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with reviewing and updating the employee handbook, HR policies, and internal procedures.
- Support benefits administration, including annual open enrollment and employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within the HRIS.
- Review and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.

Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for approximately three to four concurrent openings.
- Source, screen, and interview qualified candidates.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and stakeholders.
- Support offer preparation, candidate communication, and hiring activities.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and improve recruiting strategies.
Training & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with leadership to identify employee and manager training opportunities.
- Coordinate learning and development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and recommend scalable solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Human Resources function.
- Effectively prioritize multiple projects in a rapidly evolving environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Experience supporting a fully remote or geographically dispersed workforce.
- Strong employee relations experience, including coaching managers through workplace issues and performance concerns.
- Experience with employment law compliance, HR policies, performance management, and benefits administration.
- Full-cycle recruiting experience with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
- Experience using an HRIS; Paylocity experience is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make thoughtful recommendations independently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes.
