About the Role
SecurityHQ is growing, and we're excited to be building out our Product & Services team with the addition of a Security Product Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around 2 to 4 years of experience who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to continue developing their skills in cybersecurity, automation, and product innovation. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a curious mindset, and a genuine desire to learn and grow alongside the business.
As a Security Product Engineer, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify real customer and business challenges, helping transform ideas into innovative security solutions. You'll be involved throughout the entire lifecycle, from research and design through to prototyping, testing, and validation, giving you exposure to a wide variety of technologies and business functions.
This is a hands on role where you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new products, services, and capabilities that enhance our managed security offerings. Responsibilities
- Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand customer needs, business challenges, and service improvement opportunities.
- Design, build, and validate innovative solutions using automation, integrations, APIs, and AI technologies.
- Develop proof of concepts and prototypes, rapidly testing and refining ideas to demonstrate value.
- Create technical architectures that balance usability, security, scalability, and commercial objectives.
- Apply secure-by-design principles, considering security, privacy, and compliance throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, and Service Managers to transition successful prototypes into customer-facing services.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing platforms, processes, and service offerings through technology and automation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly within AI and cybersecurity.
- Produce clear documentation to support solution handovers and ongoing development.

What We Are Looking For
- Experience with workflow automation and orchestration platforms, including designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows and integrations.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and interoperability frameworks including REST, JSON, STIX, TAXII, and MCP.
- Hands-on experience with one or more scripting, programming, or query languages, such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Experience working with data transformation, mapping, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with AI tools and frameworks, with an interest in applying emerging technologies to solve business challenges.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for turning ideas into practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, security operations, threat intelligence, and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be beneficial.
- Exposure to version control tools such as GitHub is advantageous.
