Web Developer Intern

JHC Consulting is an independent advisory practice. We provide counsel to board committees, chief executives, and heads of industry on questions of governance, strategy, and leadership. Our firm is currently advising a leading Austrian industrial manufacturer as they navigate a significant transition within their sector. To support this mandate and our broader practice, we are seeking a Web Developer Intern. This role is a fully remote position that focuses on the digital tools and systems that allow our firm to deliver analysis to our clients.

The Role
In this role, your primary responsibility is to assist in the maintenance and expansion of the digital interfaces used by our principals and clients. We believe that clear writing is the foundation of sharp thinking. Therefore, our technical tools are designed to facilitate the production and reading of detailed memoranda rather than visual presentations. Your day-to-day work will include the following tasks:

• Updating and debugging our internal document management systems to ensure the secure storage of client mandates.
• Assisting in the development of a clean, text-focused client portal for a leading Austrian industrial manufacturer.
• Writing and testing frontend components using modern frameworks to ensure a distraction free reading experience.
• Maintaining the firm website and ensuring all digital touchpoints reflect our standard of professional discretion.
• Working with our principals to translate complex analytical requirements into functional web tools.
• Conducting technical research into industrial data sets to support our strategic advisory work.

What You Bring
We do not expect you to have decades of experience, but we do expect a disciplined approach to your work and a willingness to learn our specific methods. This internship is suitable for a student or recent graduate with a strong analytical mind. We look for the following background:

• Basic proficiency in frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with at least one modern framework such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
• An understanding of responsive design principles and how to build layouts that prioritize readability.
• A high standard for written communication and the ability to explain technical choices in plain language.
