Junior React Developer

JHC Consulting provides private counsel to boards, chief executives, and heads of industry. Our firm focuses on governance, strategy, and leadership questions where the internal view requires external challenge. We are a small, deliberate practice that values the discipline of the written word over verbal presentation. Currently, we are supporting a prominent firm in the financial data sector on a mandate involving extensive data analysis and corporate scrutiny. We are looking for a Junior React Developer to assist in building the internal tools and interfaces required for our analysts to process these datasets and produce their findings. This is a permanent, full-time, and fully remote position.

The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the browser based interfaces used by our principals. Unlike a typical technology firm, our priority is not the volume of features but the clarity and reliability of the data presented. You will spend your time translating complex financial logical requirements into clean React components. Your work will enable our analysts to view, sort, and interrogate large volumes of data as they prepare their memoranda. Because we work remotely, you must be comfortable managing your own schedule and communicating your progress through written updates rather than frequent meetings.

• Develop and maintain internal web applications using React and modern JavaScript.
• Implement user interfaces that prioritize the readability of text and data.
• Work with API endpoints to fetch and display financial information accurately.
• Debug and resolve issues within the front end code to ensure steady performance.
• Participate in design reviews where the focus is on utility and logical consistency.
• Document your code and logic clearly to support long term maintenance.
