Senior Data Engineer (Knowledge Graphs & AI) | Neo4j, GraphRAG | Remote B2B Contract | Occasional Prague Travel
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong knowledge graph and AI engineering experience to join a team building scalable, production-grade data and AI-enabled systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working across data platforms, graph technologies, backend development, and Generative AI solutions. You will contribute to the architecture, implementation, and delivery of modern data and AI capabilities, including knowledge graphs, GraphRAG pipelines, and LLM-powered retrieval systems.

You will join a team responsible for designing and developing scalable data platforms and AI-enabled solutions using modern cloud technologies, knowledge graphs, and LLM-based systems.
The role requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of technical decisions, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions across data, backend, and AI domains.
The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer (Knowledge Graph & AI), you will:
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines, backend services, and APIs using Python.
- Build and maintain knowledge graph solutions, including graph data modelling, relationship mapping, and graph traversal logic.
- Work with graph databases and technologies including Neo4j, Azure Cosmos DB, and Gremlin API.
- Design and implement GraphRAG solutions combining knowledge graphs, vector search, metadata, and LLM-powered retrieval.
- Contribute to technical design, architecture decisions, code quality, testing, and performance optimisation.
- Support production systems and continuously improve reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and AI teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Support full-stack development where required using React and Next.js.
