Facilitate and manage the community grants program across British Columbia that supports local initiatives aligned with our values and social impact goals
Plan and execute community-focused events that foster local relationships, enhance visibility, and engage employees in community-building efforts
Oversee the process of establishing local sponsorships and funding partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes
Liaise internal key stakeholders with local community and government stakeholders on community matters and strategic collaborations
Represent the organization at approved community events, conferences, and public forums to enhance visibility, credibility, and our reputation as a responsible, values-driven company
Establish and manage a community issues log, ensuring concerns and complaints are accurately documented, assigned to the appropriate internal stakeholders, and resolved with timely, well-coordinated responses
Collaborate with the Marketing team to deliver on our external brand promise, ensuring our community presence reflects our purpose, values, and impact
Connect internal culture initiatives with external engagement activities to maintain authenticity and consistency
Partner with appropriate internal teams to engage employees in approved community initiatives, fostering pride, purpose, and a strong connection between culture and community impact

Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement, the Manager, Community Engagement is responsible for maintaining the meaningful connections between our organization and the communities in which we operate, specifically focused on British Columbia, Canada. This role will enable and support our community engagement efforts across grants, sponsorships, events, and municipal relations, while aligning our external presence with our internal culture. The person in this role thrives at the intersection of relationship-building, impact-driven programming, and brand stewardship.
In this role, you will be a vital part of a small cross-functional team to deliver on the initiatives of our business in accordance with the agreed and approved strategic plan.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Strong existing relationships with local government organizations, businesses and non-profit organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with experience working with diverse stakeholders including governments, nonprofits, and local communities.
  • Superior project management experience, with an eye on details and the ability to coordinate multiple resources to deliver on objectives 
  • Ability to design and deliver programs that are impactful, measurable, and aligned with business strategy.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and representing the organization in external forums.
  • Collaborative thinker with a passion for social impact and brand stewardship.
  • Experience coordinating internal engagement programs is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, service providers and potentially members of the community
  • Thorough research and problem-solving skills
  • Superior time management and multitasking skills with a strong sense of urgency

  • The expected base salary for this role starts at $120-135K annually CAD. 
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
  • Total Compensation package may be inclusive of annual incentive bonus, and equity (long-term incentive)
  • Relocation assistance - preference for candidates to be located in Northern BC (as appliable and based on successful candidate circumstances)
