Job Description

HubFit is the all-in-one platform for personal trainers, online coaches, and gyms to manage clients, automate their business, and scale without the chaos. We have a 4.9 App Store rating and 2,500+ five-star reviews. We ship fast and we're growing faster.

About the Role

We are looking for a Mobile Release Engineer to completely own the architecture and end-to-end deployment lifecycle of our white-label fitness app engine.

This is a high-autonomy ownership role. You will design the multi-tenant system and internal tooling that allows us to scale to thousands of custom apps from a single codebase. Half of your brain will focus on core automation engineering, building a custom monitoring dashboard, and managing fleet versioning. The other half will focus on technical operations, coordinating with coaches to hook up their individual developer accounts, and ensuring their custom apps ship flawlessly.

What You'll Do

  • Custom Monitoring Dashboard: Architect a central internal UI to monitor our active app fleet, track deployment stages, flag account renewals, and trigger one-click re-deployments.
  • White-Label Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize our automated multi-tenant deployment pipelines utilizing Expo, React Native, EAS, and Fastlane.
  • Automated Asset Validation: Script automated verification checks for coach assets to flag incorrect file formats, transparent backgrounds, or wrong dimensions before builds compile.
  • Fleet Versioning & OTA Updates: Manage our fleet upgrade strategy and EAS Update architecture to push instant code fixes smoothly without breaking dependencies.
  • Developer Portal Handshakes: Guide coaches through setting up individual Apple and Google developer accounts, ensuring correct team permissions and credential access.
  • Store Rejection Ownership: Own the remediation loop for store rejections, diagnosing error logs and deploying quick fixes to keep the onboarding pipeline moving.
  • Lifecycle & Compliance Tracking: Track active app fleet health, manage Firebase push notification certificates, and proactively monitor upcoming store compliance deadlines.
  • Automated Client Notifications: Integrate communication triggers (like email APIs) to automatically notify coaches the exact second their branded app goes live.
  • Build the Playbook: Document and standardize our white-label engineering playbook to establish a repeatable blueprint for future multi-tenant growth.

What You'll Bring

  • Mobile Infrastructure Mastery: 3+ years of experience leading mobile release cycles, automated CI/CD deployment pipelines, and code-signing workflows for iOS and Android.
  • The Tech Stack: Deep working knowledge of the Expo and React Native ecosystem, specifically dealing with dynamic configurations (app.config.js) and EAS build profiles.
  • Tooling & Scripting Skills: Ability to write clean automation scripts (Node.js, Bash, Python) and build simple web dashboards to visualize pipeline data.
  • Secure Credential Management: Deep understanding of how to securely manage, isolate, and rotate hundreds of unique Apple/Google API keys, production certificates, and push notification tokens using EAS Credentials or cloud secret managers.
  • High Empathy Communication: Outstanding organizational and communication skills to explain technical app store requirements to non-technical fitness coaches over email.

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing large fleets of white-labeled apps from a single codebase.
  • Deep knowledge of Firebase multi-tenant configurations and push notification routing.
  • A personal passion for fitness, athletics, or health optimization.

Benefits & Perks

  • 100% remote (Must be living and authorized to work in Canada)
  • Flexible hours
  • 20 days PTO, plus public holidays
  • Your birthday off
  • Gym and wellness stipend
  • Annual learning and growth budget
