Job Description


ServiceNow Business Analyst

100% Remote

6 month contract, potential to extend or convert to FTE


The ServiceNow Business Analyst acts as a translator between technical teams and the customer’s business community, collecting, clarifying, analyzing, and translating business requirements into documentation and conceptual design for ServiceNow solutions. This role works closely with the ServiceNow Solution Architect to ensure technical feasibility, reduce implementation efforts, define detailed stories with acceptance criteria, and operates within an agile/scrum framework. Communication is primarily remote, via phone and web conferencing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist technical teams in translating application functionality into architecture and business requirements.
  • Document workflows and results of business analysis.
  • Write stories with acceptance criteria and functional tests, following agile best practices.
  • Perform functional tests on each configured story.
  • Support quality management reviews to ensure all requirements are met.
  • May assist in test plan development, execution, and end-user training.
  • Support Organizational Change Management (OCM) by providing information on the “to be” solution.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
  • Serve as a thought leader in defining business processes, system usage, and information requirements.
  • Decompose business problems, determine root causes, and provide solution alternatives.
  • Apply industry best practices and ServiceNow knowledge to design optimal solutions.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 3+ years of specific BA experience with ServiceNow, including designing and developing ServiceNow workflows and writing stories.
  • Experience in process definition, documentation, change control, and process improvement.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings, tailoring messages to the audience.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Proven ability to elicit project and system requirements.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Critical attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements gathering software, data mining tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Certifications: CAPM, PMP, Agile SAFe, ITIL, or ServiceNow CSA preferred.
