Job Description
RON 8,000 - 10,400/month fixed package, plus an uncapped 10% advisory bonus and RON 865/month housing allowance for relocation. Full transparent structure below - what you qualify for, you receive, from month one.
We are Piroi, a CECCAR-accredited accounting firm where the full-cycle accountant is the center of gravity - and we are engineering the mechanical load away (bank APIs, ML posting, RPA), so your time increasingly goes to the close, the bilanț, and the advice clients pay for.
Bucharest (Piața Victoriei) · On-site · Full-time, indefinite | Exclusive Romanian Member of TIAG® | TAG Alliances - a global alliance of 275+ independent firms in 110+ countries
SALARY STRUCTURE - TRANSPARENT
A. Base net salary: RON 7,000/month
Mandatory profile for the base level: Senior Accountant, fluent in English, comfortable with cloud collaboration tools, with 10+ years of hands-on experience in personally drafting, reviewing, and submitting online: (a) monthly trial balances, (b) tax returns, and (c) annual financial statements - under your own responsibility, not as part of a team that "participated" in them.
B. Fixed monthly add-ons, applied from month one, based on supporting documents:
- + RON 500 - Active CECCAR membership (expert contabil or contabil autorizat, membership fees up to date)
- + RON 500 - ACCA/CFA qualification (in good standing)
- + RON 500 - Minimum 3 years of experience (cumulative) in accounting firms with 5+ employees (verifiable through supporting documents)
- + RON 500 - Proven experience with international clients: minimum 3 clients with foreign shareholders, including monthly reporting in English to the group (verifiable through professional references)
- + RON 500 - Professional fluency in an additional foreign language from German, Hebrew, Greek, Turkish, assessed at interview
Total fixed salary: RON 7,000 - 9,500 net/month (base + add-ons). All salary amounts are net. Add-ons are granted from the first month of employment, upon presentation of supporting documents; no annual re-negotiation needed - what you qualify for, you receive.
C. Meal vouchers at the current legal maximum: RON 45/working day (approx. RON 900 - 1,000/month at nominal value, depending on working days) - granted to everyone, on top of the salary.
D. Housing allowance (for candidates relocating from outside Bucharest): currently RON 865/month - the maximum tax-free level under the Fiscal Code (20% of the national minimum gross salary, adjusted automatically when the law changes), granted as employer-paid rent, on top of the salary. The eligibility conditions set by the Fiscal Code apply and are confirmed at offer stage, based on supporting documents.
Overall fixed package: RON 8,000 - 10,400/month (net salary + add-ons + meal vouchers at nominal value), plus RON 865/month housing allowance where applicable - before the performance bonus.
E. Monthly performance bonus - on top of the fixed package: 10% of the net fees (excluding VAT) invoiced and collected for the optional/advisory services you generate. The demand is there; what is usually missing is an accountant with the instinct - and now the time - to capture it. We are structuring the role so you can.

F. Professional qualification support: We support your professional qualification path under our professional development policy: we cover your remaining ACCA/CFA exam and registration fees, and we back the CECCAR route (stagiu and exams). Once you qualify with CECCAR, ACCA or CFA, the corresponding add-on in section B activates automatically.
🛑 PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
This role is ideal for accountants who work (or have worked) in a Romanian accounting firm, owning a portfolio of multiple clients end to end. We also consider candidates with experience solely in-house at a single company, if they owned the full cycle A-to-Z, including Bilanț, and were not limited to just one part of the process (AP/AR etc.).
Working English is essential - not a nice-to-have. A real part of your week is in English: international clients and our TAG Alliances network. Your English, spoken and written, will be assessed during the process - the interview is partly conducted in English. Please apply only if you work in English on a daily professional basis.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You already know the reality of Romanian accounting: the rules change constantly, and the sheer volume pushes the work toward fragmentation - everyone handles a piece, and it becomes easy to lose sight of the whole client. We are building the opposite: a firm where the full-cycle accountant is the center of gravity, backed by real automation instead of buried under manual work.
Right now we are rolling out API connections banks-accounting software and ML posting/allocation (contare), on top of the RPA and BI dashboard layer we already run - all wired into a documented way of working: standard workflows, a clear priority system for every accountant's portfolio, and defined review points, so quality does not depend on heroics or memory. The mechanical load is being engineered away - so your time goes to what actually requires judgment: the close, the bilanț, the review, and the advice clients pay for. And you help build the system that makes this the firm's everyday way of working.
WHO YOU ARE
- CECCAR membership (expert contabil or contabil autorizat) - or actively in the CECCAR traineeship (stagiu). Membership is rewarded through the add-on in section B; if you are in stagiu, we back your route to qualification (see F).
- Full-cycle ownership. Ideally at least 3 years in an accounting firm (current or past) running a multi-client portfolio from "nivel balanță" (month-end closes, VAT, SAF-T, standard ANAF forms) through "nivel bilanț" - or equivalent full-cycle in-house ownership as described above. Each client is genuinely yours, end to end: you see the whole picture, make the calls, and become the person they rely on. That level of trust and autonomy is the point of the role.
- A consultant's mindset. You spot what a client actually needs and turn it into a billable service - rewarded directly through the performance bonus above. Creating value for clients is the part you enjoy most.
- At home with international clients - this matters a lot to us. Serving foreign-owned clients is its own way of working: reporting to a group or parent abroad, deadlines set by a head office, and proactive, structured communication in English with non-Romanian stakeholders. You have done it, and it suits you.
- Automation-first. You instinctively eliminate repetitive work. You are comfortable with SAGA or Nexus ERP, with APIs and CSV/XML imports, and genuinely interested in tools that take the manual load off accountants.
- Cloud-native, zero-paper. You are at home in shared cloud tools - Google Workspace and Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, QUERY, IMPORTRANGE), videocalls, screen sharing, VPNs, document management - and comfortable collaborating in real time.
- At home in a documented framework. You appreciate standard workflows and clear review points - and you improve them when you see a better way.
- Full professional fluency in Romanian. This is Romanian statutory accounting - ANAF filings, financial statements under Romanian regulations, local clients - so the daily working language is Romanian.
- A genuine working command of English, spoken and written. Our portfolio and our TAG Alliances network are international: you can hold a technical client conversation and write an accurate report on your own. We will switch to English for part of the interview.
We also welcome two profiles in particular: experienced firm accountants who moved in-house and miss owning the full cycle, and independent accountants / experți contabili ready to trade the burden of running their own book for a stable, well-equipped seat.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Full-cycle accounting for a defined, diverse portfolio of local and international clients - first entry to bilanț submitted.
- Tax reporting & compliance: preparation and submission of tax returns and annual/interim financial statements, support for audits and tax inspections.
- Help build the new way of working: adopt and refine automation tools so posting and reconciliation stop being manual, and flag the next workflows worth automating.
- Advisory & client ownership: be the primary point of contact for your clients, explain the story behind the numbers, and proactively propose value-adding services.
