Job Description
We are looking for an Head of SEO to own and build Finch's SEO practice. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has already earned the right to run a department: a practitioner with strong technical depth, a builder's mindset, and the ability to define direction rather than wait for it. You will set methodology, lead execution on priority accounts, and shape how SEO is delivered across a multi-client agency environment.
Responsibilities
- Own SEO strategy end-to-end across a portfolio of clients, from audit through execution and reporting
- Build and document the SEO practice: define methodology, set quality standards, and create frameworks the team can follow and scale
- Lead across all three SEO pillars: technical (crawlability, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema), content strategy, and authority/link building
- Use tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and GSC to drive decisions, not just reporting
- Communicate SEO strategy and performance clearly to clients and internal leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage competing client priorities simultaneously
