Company Description What's The Move is a mobile platform designed to simplify nightlife planning by helping users discover where to go, who’s going, and what’s happening—all in one app. The platform addresses the fragmented nature of current nightlife planning by centralizing live hot zone maps, curated events, and venue discovery. Users can coordinate effortlessly with friends through syncing features and share nightlife moments in a story-style format that fuels community and culture. Founded by individuals with firsthand experience of the problem, the team is focused on making nights out easier, more spontaneous, and more social. Currently in early-stage development, What’s The Move is building toward an MVP launch and raising pre-seed funding to accelerate product growth, user acquisition, and partnerships.
Role Description This remote internship role as an iOS Developer Intern involves contributing to the development and improvement of the What’s The Move iOS application. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will help implement new features, fix bugs, and refine user interface components to support a smooth and engaging user experience. The intern will collaborate with product and design team members, participate in code reviews, and assist in integrating APIs and data sources that power live maps, events, and social features. Responsibilities also include writing clean, maintainable code, testing and debugging, and documenting technical decisions and functionality. This is an internship position, offering practical experience in building a consumer-facing mobile product in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Mobile Application Development and Mobile Applications.
- Candidates should possess skills in iOS Development and iOS.
- Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and general programming principles.
- Familiarity with Swift, Xcode, and Apple’s iOS frameworks (UIKit/SwiftUI) is beneficial.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and basic networking in mobile apps is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a startup environment.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate clearly with a distributed team.
