As a Senior Consultant you'll take the lead in shaping how testing and quality engineering come to life across a range of exciting projects and client engagements. You'll work directly with clients, helping them design, implement, and optimise testing strategies that deliver real value, and you'll play a key role in lifting testing capability within Assurity and across the wider ICT community.


What you'll be doing


As a Senior Consultant, you'll take the lead in shaping and delivering performance engineering practices across a variety of projects. You will work on a mix of client engagements of varying durations and team sizes, sometimes with a large team on a long-term engagement, sometimes by yourself on a short project. From designing realistic workload models to analysing complex system behaviour, you'll play a key role in ensuring our technology performs seamlessly under pressure.


You'll work closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to identify performance risks early, provide actionable insights, and drive optimisation across systems. You'll also contribute to evolving our performance engineering approach, including exploring how emerging technologies like AI/ML and agentic systems can enhance what we do.


What you'll bring

  • A proven track record in using performance testing tools such as JMeter, NeoLoad, and LoadRunner.
  • Strong scripting and coding capability in languages like Perl, Groovy, Java, JavaScript, or Shell, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Depth of understanding in enterprise IT architectures, software patterns, frameworks, and modern cloud platforms.
  • Skilled at test engineering, workload modelling, performance analysis, and insightful reporting.
  • Capability in estimating resources and effort for large-scale initiatives.
  • Recognised expertise in analysing and optimising performance across a wide range of technologies and architectures.
  • Confidence in configuring and using enterprise monitoring and APM tools.
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate system performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach, with an interest in exploring emerging trends in performance engineering, including AI/ML and agentic applications.
  • Comfort working across different delivery methodologies and managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate system performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions and guide change across multi-vendor programmes.
  • Experience shaping problem statements and delivering presentations.
  • Thought leadership in the performance testing space, with a knack for identifying client needs and translating them into practical solutions.
