Quality Assurance Engineer

About The Company:
Tricura Insurance Group is a next-generation, tech-enabled insurance and risk-management company transforming how healthcare organizations protect, manage, and grow their operations.
We’re a global remote-first team working to reshape the future of healthcare insurance. We combine deep industry expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver smarter, faster, and more transparent insurance solutions across the continuum of care.
If you're passionate about creating impactful solutions that empower those who care for others, we’d love to meet you.
About the Role:
We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong automation skills to help ensure the reliability and quality of our customer-facing platforms and internal systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on automating tests, improving system reliability, and preventing issues before they reach users. You will work closely with backend engineers, frontend engineers, product managers, and infrastructure across multiple products.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, thinks like an engineer, and enjoys designing robust automated testing systems - not just executing manual test cases.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Test Automation & Quality Engineering
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for backend and frontend systems
- Write integration, end-to-end, and regression tests using modern automation frameworks
- Expand and improve our automated test coverage across services and applications
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Use AI-assisted tools where useful to accelerate test design, debugging, documentation, and investigation
2) System Reliability & Investigation
- Identify bugs, regressions, and edge cases before they reach production
- Investigate issues across distributed systems, APIs, queues, and databases
- Reproduce issues reliably and provide clear technical documentation for engineering teams
- Validate fixes and ensure long-term stability

- Contribute to improving QA processes, tooling, and standards
Our Stack & Tools:
You do not need experience with every tool, but strong familiarity with similar ecosystems is expected.
Primary QA Automation Stack:

Application and infrastructure stack you’ll test against:
- React / TypeScript frontends
- Python / FastAPI backends
- PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Redis, and async workflows
- AWS services such as ECS, SQS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of total software engineering or QA experience
- Recent 2+ years of hands-on QA experience with automation as a primary responsibility
- Strong experience writing automated tests (not only manual testing)
- Strong programming ability (TypeScript and/or Python)
- Experience testing APIs, backend systems, and distributed services
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Pytest, or equivalents
- Ability to independently investigate technical issues across systems
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
- Fluent English communication
- Based in a Latin American country
