The role


Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse organisation. Leading organisational sustainability, partnerships, advocacy, housing growth and service delivery, the CEO will foster a collaborative culture while positioning Homes North for its next phase of growth and impact.


This role requires a strategic and emotionally intelligent executive with strong stakeholder engagement capability, leadership experience and a genuine commitment to regional communities and social impact.


Based in Armidale or Tamworth, this role offers the opportunity to combine executive leadership with the lifestyle and connection of regional NSW while influencing outcomes across the New England North West. Relocation support provided.


About You


Homes North is seeking a values-led executive who can balance strategic growth, financial sustainability and community impact within a dynamic regional environment. The successful candidate will bring:


  • Proven executive leadership experience within community housing, human services, social infrastructure or other purpose-led environments
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance sustainability with client and community outcomes
  • Demonstrated capability leading organisational strategy, growth and operational performance
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across government, community, business and sector partners
  • A collaborative and authentic leadership style, with the emotional intelligence and judgement to engage, mentor and empower teams
  • An understanding of regional communities and the ability to navigate competing priorities and resource constraints
  • Experience working within culturally diverse environments, including a genuine commitment to cultural safety and improved outcomes for Aboriginal communities
  • Strong governance, risk management and Board engagement capability
  • The resilience, curiosity and adaptability to lead through change and drive long-term impact
