About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in building the core infrastructure that powers our AI employees. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and scale resilient backend systems that handle high-volume AI requests with precision and reliability. You will be responsible for end-to-end feature delivery, from initial architecture and design to deployment and ongoing optimization.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, AI researchers, and design teams to ensure our backend solutions support real-world user workflows. You will work closely with AI coding agents like Claude Code, leveraging their capabilities to enhance your productivity and the quality of your work. Maintaining high standards of engineering rigor through testing, observability, and deployment pipelines will be integral to your responsibilities. Additionally, you will focus on long-term scalability by iteratively improving system architecture, managing technical debt, and optimizing for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in high-growth or early-stage startups
• Proven ability to build scalable, data-intensive services with modern APIs and infrastructure
• Proficiency with cloud-native tools such as containers, Kubernetes, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, database systems (SQL and NoSQL), and system reliability
• Experience with modern backend stacks, preferably TypeScript/Node.js or equivalent
• Strong ownership mindset with a track record of independently leading system components and shipping impactful features
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Own the full lifecycle of features from conception through deployment, ensuring quality and reliability
