Senior Backend Engineer

Key Talent Solutions is hiring for a fast-growing Series A FinTech infrastructure company building global money movement technology for the future of work.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has built scalable production systems, enjoys ambiguity, and wants to work on high-throughput backend infrastructure where reliability, correctness and speed matter.

You’ll join a small, high-calibre engineering team building systems that support large-scale payments, onboarding, data workflows and financial operations.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and scale production-ready systems across backend, frontend and infrastructure
• Work on high-throughput backend systems handling large amounts of data
• Build backend services primarily in Python and product surfaces in React
• Work with AWS, ECS and modern engineering tools
• Launch and iterate on meaningful software projects in a fast-moving environment
• Make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, reliability and long-term maintainability

• Collaborate closely with founders, product and engineering teams
• Review code, raise engineering quality and contribute to hiring as the team grows

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years designing and building scalable production systems
• Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Python
• Experience with high-throughput systems, large data volumes or complex workflows
• Track record of launching and iterating on major applications or software projects
• Comfortable moving fast and building scrappy systems when needed
• Strong product and engineering judgement

• Hands-on IC mindset; this is not a management-only role
• Experience with React, AWS, ECS or Kubernetes is a strong plus
• FinTech, finance, payments, banking, marketplace or infrastructure experience is highly desirable

Location and compensation

• San Francisco or New York strongly preferred
• Full-time, in-person / office-based role
• Base salary: $200K–$280K, depending on experience
• Visa sponsorship may be considered for strong candidates
