I’m currently partnering with an innovative AI organisation working at the forefront of Large Language Models and autonomous agent systems, looking to engage experienced AI Systems Engineers on a fully remote contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on next-generation AI technologies focused on teaching advanced AI agents how to coordinate, reason and execute complex real-world workflows autonomously.

The role will suit engineers who enjoy backend systems, orchestration, AI automation and solving complex multi-stage technical challenges within highly cutting-edge environments.

What you’ll be working on:

• Designing and improving AI workflow orchestration systems

• Supporting the development of autonomous multi-step AI agents

• Building scalable backend systems and modular service architectures

• Working with APIs, databases and live production environments

• Evaluating AI behaviour and providing detailed technical feedback

• Supporting AI model optimisation and operational performance improvements

• Helping improve safety, reliability and real-world AI coordination capabilities

What they’re looking for:

• 2+ years’ experience within Backend Engineering, AI Automation or Systems Integration

• Strong coding ability across languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go or Java

• Experience working with SQL databases and production-grade systems

• Understanding of modular architectures and scalable backend environments

• Experience working within live, non-mocked operational systems

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

Additional experience of interest:

• AI agents, orchestration frameworks or workflow automation

• Multi-stage coordination systems and reasoning workflows

• Integration experience with APIs, Supabase, Gmail or external tools

• Experience with persistent state management or session tracking

• AI safety, prompt injection or privacy/security awareness
