Position: Nurse Manager

Overview

The Nurse Manager will oversee clinical operations and staff within a Special Needs Unit. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support nursing staff including CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and unit clerks

• Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure adherence to DOH and facility standards

• Coordinate interdisciplinary communication to ensure continuity of patient care

• Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations

• Implement strategies that promote patient safety, staff development, and quality outcomes

• Facilitate effective team communication and project management

• Ensure proper documentation and reporting within electronic health systems

• Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development


Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program

• Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse

• Minimum 2 years of recent management or supervisory experience in a long-term care facility

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic health record systems


Preferred:

• Experience with Meditech or similar healthcare software

• Background in Special Needs Unit or long-term care management
