Job Description
About UnknwnAI
UnknwnAI is a software company building modern, production-grade applications across enterprise systems, healthcare technology, automation, integrations, and AI-enabled platforms.
We are looking for a Junior Frontend Developer with at least 2 years of commercial experience to join our engineering team. This role is suited to someone who has solid frontend development experience and wants to work on real, complex, production applications rather than simple websites or template-based projects.
You will work primarily on frontend development using TypeScript, Next.js, and React, contributing to client-facing platforms, internal systems, healthcare applications, ERP interfaces, dashboards, forms, and data-driven user experiences.
As a Junior Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for building clean, responsive, maintainable frontend interfaces for modern web applications. You will work closely with backend developers, product stakeholders, and other members of the engineering team to turn requirements into reliable, user-friendly application screens and workflows.
This is a frontend-focused role, but you must understand how frontend applications communicate with APIs, handle authentication flows, manage data, validate forms, and support production users.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is technically capable, detail-oriented, self-managed, and serious about building polished software.
You will be expected to:
- Build and maintain frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Create clean, reusable, and maintainable UI components
- Implement responsive layouts that work well across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
- Convert product requirements, wireframes, and designs into functional application screens
- Build forms, tables, dashboards, portals, workflows, and data-driven interfaces
- Integrate frontend screens with backend APIs
- Handle loading states, validation errors, empty states, and edge cases properly
- Maintain consistency across application UI, spacing, typography, and user flows
- Follow existing project structure, coding standards, and design patterns
Please only apply if you meet all of the essential requirements below.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial frontend development experience
- Strong professional experience with:
- TypeScript
- React
- Next.js
- Good understanding of modern frontend architecture
- Experience building production web applications, not just static websites
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
- Experience consuming REST APIs from frontend applications
- Ability to work with forms, validation, dynamic data, and user workflows
- Understanding of client-side state management
- Experience using Git in a professional development environment
- Ability to work remotely and remain available during UK working hours
- Strong attention to detail and ability to test your own work properly

- Form handling and validation
- API integration and data fetching
- Conditional rendering and reusable component patterns
- Error boundaries, loading states, and fallback UI
- Performance-aware frontend development
- Clean TypeScript interfaces and type-safe component props
You should be comfortable working with modern styling approaches, including:
- CSS modules, Tailwind CSS, or similar styling systems
- Responsive layouts using flexbox and grid
- Component libraries where required
- Consistent spacing, alignment, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Accessibility fundamentals, including semantic HTML and keyboard-friendly interfaces
- Cross-browser compatibility basics
You do not need to be a UI designer, but you must have a strong eye for detail and be able to produce clean, professional frontend work.
Although this is a frontend role, candidates must understand how frontend applications interact with backend systems.
