Job Description
At Heymondo, we're not just redefining travel insurance, we’re reinventing the way people experience the world. As a fast-growing travel insurtech based in Barcelona with global outreach, we thrive on innovation, collaboration, and a relentless passion for adventure. Every team member is a key player in our mission to craft cutting-edge solutions that empower travelers and transform challenges into opportunities.
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer (strategy & architecture focus) profile with high strategic abstraction capabilities to lead the quality architecture in our monolith-to-microservices migration. We are not seeking a simple test executor, but a senior profile with strong technical judgment and extensive experience in complex ecosystems. We need someone with the initiative to propose conceptual solutions and define the "how" and the "what" in a highly complex technical environment.
You will join a collaborative team currently composed of a QA Manager, two Automation Engineers, and a Functional QA. In this role, you will be the technical reference for our automation strategy, defining the standards needed to successfully navigate the migration. Your mission is to help the team evolve technically while ensuring stable validation processes that go beyond the UI, focusing on data integrity and system reliability.
Ready to drive quality through automation and teamwork?
Mission:
Your work will be pivotal in leading the technical migration strategy. As the owner of the testing architecture, you will reduce the operational burden for the QA Manager by making high-level decisions. Equally important is your role as a mentor, sharing knowledge and fostering the autonomy of your teammates to ensure long-term scalability.
Key activities / responsibilities to perform:
- Lead the migration: Act as the technical owner of the QA migration strategy, making autonomous decisions regarding the testing architecture and transition phases.
- Abstraction of solutions: Propose advanced strategies to ensure the transition is seamless and invisible to the business.
- Design and scalability: Design and implement robust, efficient automation frameworks (Functional, API, Contract) that the team can maintain and scale with ease.
- Senior mentoring: Elevate the technical level and strategic mindset of the current QA team, driving their autonomy and promoting best practices.
