Job Description


This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Backend Engineer in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build and scale mission-critical backend systems that power advanced fraud prevention and AML compliance solutions used by leading banks, fintechs, and global enterprises. You will design and maintain high-performance APIs, distributed services, and data-driven backend architectures that detect and prevent financial crime in real time. Working in a remote-first, globally distributed engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with product, data, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable systems. The work is highly impactful, directly contributing to protecting customers from identity fraud, payment fraud, and account takeovers. You will also play a key role in shaping backend engineering standards and driving best practices across the organization. This is a hands-on position suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex, high-scale problems in a fast-moving, product-driven environment.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that support fraud detection, compliance, and real-time decisioning systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Build new features and capabilities that enhance fraud detection and platform functionality
  • Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to design and deliver end-to-end technical solutions
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security at production scale
  • Contribute to internal tools, data pipelines, and backend infrastructure improvements
  • Write and maintain technical documentation to support system understanding and adoption

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering experience, with a focus on building scalable production systems and working in data-intensive or high-availability environments. You are comfortable collaborating across teams and translating complex requirements into clean, efficient systems.

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development
  • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages (Golang is a strong plus)
  • Experience building and maintaining highly available, scalable production systems
  • Familiarity with data pipelines or data engineering concepts is highly desirable
  • Experience working in fintech, banking, fraud prevention, or compliance domains is a plus
  • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and backend architecture principles
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English for both technical and business communication
