Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced AWS Lambda Developer to support a remote government project. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies, cloud-native application development, and backend integrations within secure enterprise environments.

This role requires a candidate who can work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop scalable cloud-based solutions while complying with government security and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
  • Build and support cloud-native APIs and backend services.
  • Integrate AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Develop event-driven architectures and automation workflows.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance Lambda performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to implement scalable solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security and Public Trust project requirements.
  • Document technical designs, workflows, and deployment procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Lambda development.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services including API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, DynamoDB, and SNS/SQS.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and serverless applications.
  • Understanding of event-driven and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government or regulated industry projects.
  • Familiarity with Public Trust or other federal clearance processes.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • AWS Certifications preferred.
