Network Implementation Engineer
Location: Remote
Work Setup: 100% Remote
Our Client is seeking a highly motivated Network Implementation Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, and modernization of its nationwide multivendor IP network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a hands-on networking professional with expertise in Cisco and Nokia carrier-class environments, virtualization technologies, and large-scale MPLS/IP backbone operations.
Network Implementation Engineer Responsibilities
- Configure, upgrade, and maintain carrier-class Cisco and Nokia routing and switching platforms across nationwide edge and core networks.
- Support the transition from VXLAN to the eNSE platform while implementing virtualization and software-defined networking technologies.
- Execute maintenance window changes, software upgrades, migrations, and configuration updates during overnight shifts.
- Implement and troubleshoot MPLS, BGP, OSPFv3, L2VPN, L3VPN, VRF, and IPv6 network solutions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Capacity Planning, Operations, and local field teams to deploy and validate network infrastructure changes.
- Utilize automation and orchestration tools including Python, NSO, DCNM, VTS, Pronghorn, and Nuage.
- Perform transport circuit turn-up, decommissioning, and troubleshooting activities for data center and edge connectivity.
- Review MOPs, validate pre/post-change network health, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Support cloud and virtualization onboarding initiatives for Telecommunication’s private cloud environments.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support for routers, switches, fiber connectivity, and out-of-band management systems.

Network Implementation Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant networking experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco CRS, Company, ASR, Nexus platforms, and Nokia SR-OS devices.
- Advanced knowledge of IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, and JunOS operating systems.
- Expertise in MPLS, MP-BGP, VXLAN, spine-leaf architectures, IPv4/IPv6, and carrier-grade networking.
- Experience implementing network changes in enterprise or service provider environments.
- Ability to work overnight shifts (Monday–Friday) and occasional weekends.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving Layer 1–3 networking, copper/fiber cabling, and remote device access.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
