Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Manager of Information Technology will provide oversight and supervision for the IT Shared Service team, including onsite IT support as needed for participating Alliance schools. The Manager will also share responsibility for oversight of Alliance’s help desk, device inventory, and key enterprise IT systems, including Google Workspace, Zoom, & JAMF. The Manager role will be hybrid, with roughly 75% of time spent at Alliance schools alongside IT Shared Service team members and/or supporting their schools in their absence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • With the Director of IT, share oversight and supervision for the IT Shared Service team, which currently provides direct service to 11 Alliance schools (to provide direct service to all 25 Alliance schools).
  • Directly supervise two of the four IT shared service team members (note: this number may increase as the team expands).
  • Provide additional onsite IT support as needed at Alliance schools participating in the IT shared service program, particularly during peak periods (e.g., interim & state testing, beginning of year device setup & deployment).
  • Fill in for the IT shared service team members during planned vacations, sick days, etc.
  • Oversee Alliance’s help desk, including ticket resolution and monthly service metrics.
  • Oversee Alliance’s device inventory, including quarterly audits and serving as the admin for Snipe-IT, Alliance’s asset inventory system.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including: IT Desktop team, IT Network team, IT Shared Service team, IT Home Office staff, Data & Systems Home Office staff, IT school site technology associates, and School site leadership (e.g., Assistant Principals of Operations & School Operations Managers).

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Commitment to Alliance’s core beliefs and educational philosophy.
  • Experience as a supervisor who prioritizes their direct reports.
  • Strong customer service orientation, including timely response to customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience repairing Macs, PCs, Chromebooks, iPads, Apple TVs, and other educational technology devices.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with Google Admin Console and JAMF.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with Zoom & VoIP phones.
  • Reliable transportation for school site work.
  • Knowledge of PowerSchool is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Robust supervisory and help desk experience.
  • Relevant certifications for Google, Apple, & JAMF are preferred.

  • Relocation: Individuals residing outside of the Greater Los Angeles area are eligible for a relocation bonus of $5,000 for individuals and $7,500 for new staff with families/partners.
  • Professional Development: At Alliance, we believe in supporting staff growth by providing substantial professional development support. Home Office staff are allocated $500 per year for professional development expenses.

WORK LOCATION

This position is a hybrid role, which will include a combination of working from home, our network office, and travel to school sites. The successful candidate will be given a $400 work-from-home set-up allowance and receive a monthly stipend of $100.

Compensation

$72,000.00 - $120,000.00
