Role: Automation QA Engineer
Duration: 6 Months start with possibility for extension
100% remote role (India)
CET time zone (2 PM IST to 11 PM IST)
We are seeking a strong Automation QA Engineer that supports Point of Sale (POS) systems and backend integrations. This role focuses heavily on process and test automation, with a key objective of building automation frameworks from the ground up where none currently exist.
The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on, and able to ramp up quickly with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright and JavaScript
- Automate existing manual testing procedures, including POS and backend workflows
- Perform API testing and validation using Postman
- Execute owner testing across POS, AS400, and integrated systems
- Work with JIRA for test tracking, defect management, and reporting
- Contribute to both web and mobile application testing efforts
- Identify automation opportunities and drive process improvements
- Support testing across AS400 (middleware) systems and POS platforms
- Participate in screening exercises and provide real-world testing scenarios

Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in QA Automation
Strong hands-on experience with:
- JavaScript
- Playwright (test automation)
- API testing using Postman
- Experience working with POS systems (any industry)
- Solid understanding of test automation principles and frameworks
- Experience with JIRA or similar test/defect tracking tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with web browser-based testing
