The Vice President of Human Resources and Compliance (VP of HR) will lead and manage the human resources function across all our franchise locations. The role requires a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in employment law and regulatory compliance, particularly in multi-state environments, quick service restaurant industry and a strong background in payroll compliance and employee relations. They will oversee a team of HR professionals and ensure that HR practices are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and compliant with all federal, state, and local employment laws. The VP of HR will be a strategic leader with proven expertise in managing HR operations, driving organizational efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence.
This position is in person at our Sugar Land Offices. Relocation available if needed.

- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the overall business objectives of the company.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HR professionals to provide effective HR services across all franchise locations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR policies and practices with business needs.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, particularly those affecting the quick service restaurant industry.
- Stay current on changes in employment legislation and ensure that HR practices are updated accordingly.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to minimize legal risk and ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to the HR team, management and employees on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Oversee the payroll function to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees across multiple states.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, tax withholding, and reporting requirements.
- Provides expert advice in a wide variety of administrative areas such legal, compliance, and human resources.
- Oversee and partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition for the organization in development and implement effective talent acquisition and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in a competitive market.
- Collaborate with HR to identify and implement solutions to streamline HR processes and enhance efficiency.
- Oversee HR’s administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, bonus retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Oversee employee development programs, including training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and employee recognition.
- Ensure the efficient operation of all HR systems and processes, including ATS, HRIS, payroll systems, and performance management tools.
- Implement and manage HR metrics and reporting to provide insights into HR performance and inform decision-making.

HERE’S WHAT Education & Experience YOU WILL NEED:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employment Law or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of multi-state employment laws and regulations, particularly in the quick service restaurant or similar industry.
- Proven experience managing payroll and ensuring payroll compliance across multiple states.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a diverse team of HR professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and act operationally, with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
