Job Description
About the Company
A rapidly growing cybersecurity startup is building AI-driven autonomous systems for advanced cyber operations, automating vulnerability research, exploit development, and security workflows end-to-end.
Backed by leading investors in AI, defense, and cybersecurity, the company already works with major customers and brings together a lean, highly technical team across the U.S., Europe, and Israel.
The mission is to define the future of AI-powered offensive cybersecurity in a fast-growing global market.
About the Position
The company is looking for AI/Systems Engineers to develop the infrastructure powering automated vulnerability research and exploit generation.
This is a deeply technical engineering role focused on low-level systems rather than application-layer AI or prompt workflows. Engineers in this role will work close to hardware and operating systems, building performant, production-grade systems with strong reliability requirements.
The team is considering candidates from two complementary backgrounds:
- Engineers with hands-on vulnerability research, exploitation, or CTF experience and strong systems knowledge
- Low-level systems builders with exceptional engineering fundamentals, even without formal offensive security backgrounds

- Work across low-level infrastructure including operating systems, kernels, runtime environments, and performance-sensitive components
- Own technical initiatives from architecture through implementation and deployment
- Collaborate closely with security researchers and engineering teams to automate manual offensive workflows
- Contribute to technical standards, engineering practices, and product direction in a high-performance environment
Requirements
Required
- 2+ years of software engineering experience (outstanding early-career candidates may also be considered)
- Strong experience with low-level systems, such as OS internals, kernel development, runtime analysis, instrumentation, interception, or similar domains
- Ability to independently build and ship end-to-end systems with focus on performance and correctness
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Availability to work onsite in Washington, D.C. five days per week (relocation support available)
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements tied to government-related projects

Preferred

- Experience building security or cyber-focused infrastructure products
- Contributions to open-source systems tooling or OS-level projects
- Experience in high-bar AI, infrastructure, or security organizations
- Familiarity with ML/AI systems or production AI infrastructure
