Job Description

About The Company

A fast-growing cybersecurity startup is building autonomous systems designed to execute advanced cyber operations through AI. The platform focuses on automating complex security workflows end-to-end, combining large-scale vulnerability discovery, exploit development, and operational execution for government and defense-oriented environments.

The company is already working with enterprise-level customers under significant commercial agreements and has recently secured funding from leading investors in defense technology, cybersecurity, and AI. Backed by experienced operators and technical founders, the team includes alumni from top-tier AI, infrastructure, and security companies.

The organization is intentionally lean, highly technical, and globally distributed, with core teams operating from the U.S., Europe, and Israel. Most team members come from engineering-heavy backgrounds, with strong emphasis on execution speed, technical depth, and ownership.

This space represents a rapidly expanding market, as AI increasingly transforms workflows that traditionally required highly specialized offensive security expertise. The long-term vision is to become a category-defining company in AI-powered cybersecurity infrastructure.

About The Position

The company is looking for AI/Systems Engineers to develop the infrastructure powering automated vulnerability research and exploit generation.

This is a deeply technical engineering role focused on low-level systems rather than application-layer AI or prompt workflows. Engineers in this role will work close to hardware and operating systems, building performant, production-grade systems with strong reliability requirements.

The Team Is Considering Candidates From Two Complementary Backgrounds

  • Engineers with hands-on vulnerability research, exploitation, or CTF experience and strong systems knowledge
  • Low-level systems builders with exceptional engineering fundamentals, even without formal offensive security backgrounds

A strong understanding of systems internals is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop production systems for automated vulnerability discovery and exploit workflows
  • Work across low-level infrastructure including operating systems, kernels, runtime environments, and performance-sensitive components
  • Own technical initiatives from architecture through implementation and deployment
  • Collaborate closely with security researchers and engineering teams to automate manual offensive workflows
  • Contribute to technical standards, engineering practices, and product direction in a high-performance environment

Requirements

Required

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience (outstanding early-career candidates may also be considered)
  • Strong experience with low-level systems, such as OS internals, kernel development, runtime analysis, instrumentation, interception, or similar domains
  • Ability to independently build and ship end-to-end systems with focus on performance and correctness
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Availability to work onsite in Washington, D.C. five days per week (relocation support available)
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements tied to government-related projects

Preferred

  • Background in vulnerability research, offensive security, or CTF competitions
  • Experience building security or cyber-focused infrastructure products
  • Contributions to open-source systems tooling or OS-level projects
  • Experience in high-bar AI, infrastructure, or security organizations
  • Familiarity with ML/AI systems or production AI infrastructure
