The Fowler-O’Sullivan Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to hiker safety and providing compassionate support to families of missing hikers. We connect families to vetted resources, facilitate wilderness search efforts when official operations cease, and drive preventative initiatives to reduce future missing hiker cases. With safety and empathy as core values, we move mountains to make a meaningful difference for families living with ambiguous loss and the hiking community as a whole.
Role Description
We are seeking a part-time, fully remote Social Media Manager & Content Creator. The individual will oversee the Foundation’s presence on multiple social media platforms (including Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok), creating and executing content strategies and original content to enhance engagement and amplify the Foundation's mission. Responsibilities include writing and publishing content, monitoring analytics and making relevant optimizations, and fostering meaningful interactions with hiking influencers and the overall hiking community. The candidate will collaborate with team members, including our Founder/Executive Director, to craft communications that align with our mission.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Social Media Marketing and Content Creation across relevant platforms
- Strong Communication and Writing skills
- Proficiency in graphic design, photo editing and video editing tools
- Knowledge of social media trends, tools, and best practices
- Experience in developing and executing effective Content Strategies
- Ability to analyze social media metrics to inform and improve campaigns
- Passion for hiking, familiarity with the nonprofit sector and an understanding of empathy-driven communications is a plus
