Position: OpenText Exstream Developer — Customer Communications Management (CCM) Specialist

Seniority: Mid to Senior (Individual Contributor)

Experience: 3–8 years of hands-on OpenText Exstream experience preferred

Role & Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Create and maintain OpenText Exstream templates, composition flows and variable-data documents for print and digital channels. Deliver work that meets defined acceptance criteria and unit test coverage (agree SLA/quality targets with the project team).
• Composer & Interactive Solutions: Implement Exstream Composer and Exstream Interactive solutions to support batch and real-time customer communications; ensure interactive flows meet usability and performance benchmarks.
• Data Integration & Mapping: Integrate Exstream outputs with backend systems using XML, REST APIs and SQL data sources; map incoming data to templates, validate data against schemas, and troubleshoot mapping issues (track and reduce data-related defects).
• Performance & Production Support: Optimize runtime performance and storage for high-volume document generation; monitor jobs, investigate production incidents, implement fixes and report on KPIs (throughput, latency, error rates).
• Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with business analysts, QA, and DevOps to translate requirements into testable designs; participate in sprint planning, estimate tasks, and meet agreed delivery timelines.
• Automation & CI/CD: Contribute to automating builds, deployments and regression tests for Exstream artifacts; maintain pipeline scripts and support release automation to reduce manual steps and deployment failures.
• Version Control & Release Management: Manage version control, environment migrations and release activities for Exstream artifacts; follow branch/release strategies and maintain clear release notes.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Produce clear technical documentation, template specifications and runbooks; perform knowledge transfer and mentor junior team members to improve team capability and reduce onboarding time.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve templates, data flows and processes; propose measurable improvements and participate in post-release reviews to track impact.
