The Safety Senior Manager serves as a strategic leader in building and sustaining a proactive, high-performing safety culture across the organization. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs, policies, and systems that prevent incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and align with company goals. Through data-driven insights, audits, and active field engagement, the Senior Safety Manager identifies risks, drives continuous improvement, and strengthens accountability at all levels of the organization. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to embed safety into everyday decision-making—elevating it from a requirement to a core operational advantage.

- Support the development of company-wide strategic safety objectives aligned with business goals.
- Lead execution of safety strategies, including planning, prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, implementation, and ongoing evaluation to drive adoption and continuous improvement.
- Manage the safety department budget to ensure alignment between planned and actual spending, while optimizing team utilization to meet annual targets.
- Build and lead a high-performing safety team, managing staff in alignment with departmental needs and Bouten’s talent management standards.
- Interpret and apply OSHA and WISHA regulations, ensuring company-wide compliance across construction, health, and safety practices.
- Provide comprehensive leadership of the company’s safety program, ensuring it remains current, effective, and clearly understood across the organization.
- Oversee and conduct regular jobsite inspections, ensuring consistent safety oversight, clear documentation, and timely corrective action with follow-through.
- Lead the safety training program, including development, delivery, and continuous improvement of both field-based and classroom training. Also included is on-boarding of new employees.
- Lead claims management efforts, including oversight of workers’ compensation cases, coordination of employee care, and proactive management of return-to-work programs to reduce time loss and overall claim costs. Collaborate with medical providers, therapists, and insurance adjusters to ensure effective treatment plans and optimal recovery outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs to align with evolving regulations, industry best practices, and organizational standards.
- Maintain and ensure proper distribution of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) across all jobsites.
- Drive cost-effective safety solutions by identifying and implementing innovative approaches to compliance and risk reduction.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and lead the implementation of impacted programs across the organization.
- Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on industry trends, proactively identifying and advancing opportunities to strengthen safety culture, elevate practices, and improve overall performance.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting on overall safety performance, including jobsite-specific insights, trends, and risk areas.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive safety experience; or an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience in building construction.
- Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental principles, regulations, and best practices required.
- Commercial Construction industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency project management software (Procore, etc.) and standard business software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

- Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000.
