Social Media Manager โ€” Contract


Bananabones | Fully Remote

Bananabones is a documentary-style video production company specializing in impact films and branded content. We've been at this for over 16 years, working with clients like WWF, ESPN, NBC Sports, Easterseals, and Comcast Business. We're a small, scrappy team based in Winston-Salem, NC. The Role

We're looking for a contract Social Media Manager to own our presence across Instagram and LinkedIn. The person we need is part project manager, part content strategist โ€” someone who takes genuine ownership of the calendar and isn't afraid to hold a client accountable when they're the one falling behind.

Our executive producer, Jeff Siebert, handles the creative direction and content. You bring the systems, the structure, and the follow-through.


What You'll Own

  • Content calendar management โ€” planning, scheduling, and publishing across Instagram and personal/company LinkedIn
  • Monthly performance reporting โ€” engagement, follower growth, what's working and what's not
  • Content bank organization โ€” keeping posts organized, tagged, and ready to deploy
  • Project workflow management โ€” keeping the pipeline moving and on schedule
  • Strategy and insights โ€” optimal posting times, engagement monitoring, platform best practices


How We Work Together

We meet twice a month over Zoom to plan, brainstorm, and strategize. Outside of that you'll work independently โ€” we trust you to own it.


Requirements

  • 3โ€“5 years of experience in social media management
  • Deep knowledge of Instagram and LinkedIn โ€” strategy, not just posting
  • Experience with project tracking platforms (Asana, Trello, Monday, or similar)
  • Strong communication and follow-through โ€” this role lives and dies on reliability


Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Asana specifically
  • Experience working with creative, production, or agency clients
  • Knowledge of YouTube or other social platforms


Compensation

  • $60โ€“$75/hour | 10-15 hours/month | Up to $1,000/month
  • This is a fully remote contract position. Location and timezone are open.
