Job Description

About Go10

Go10 is a UK-based value-added distributor of consumer products. We represent 60+ brands across

consumer electronics, audio, health, wellness, and lifestyle categories, selling through major national

retailers including Argos, John Lewis, Currys, Very, and Costco, as well as online channels including

Amazon and dropship fulfilment directly to customers.

We act as the UK and Ireland route to market for both established global manufacturers and

emerging brands, handling sales, channel management, marketing support, and operational

fulfilment. Our technology platform is central to managing that complexity at scale across multiple  channels and brand relationships.

Role overview

We are looking for a Platform Engineer with a strong systems mindset to help design, maintain, and

support the technical foundations of our business platforms.

This role focuses on infrastructure reliability, operational stability, and system continuity. You will

work across backend services, databases, and integrations that connect our ERP systems with our

cloud-based platforms, ensuring they are robust, well-understood, well-documented, and

supportable over time.

While integration and API work is an important part of the role, it sits within a broader responsibility

that includes understanding how data flows through our systems, diagnosing and resolving issues

across the stack, and contributing to ongoing improvements to backend infrastructure.

You will work closely with the Head of Digital Platforms and have direct access to the systems and

decisions that shape how the platform evolves.

Key responsibilities

  • Infrastructure and Operational Ownership
  • Develop, maintain, and support backend systems that underpin business-critical workflows
  • Build a strong understanding of how data flows across ERP systems, APIs, databases, and downstream consumers
  • Audit and document all live integrations, APIs, and infrastructure components
  • Write runbooks for all critical systems, sufficient for relevant team members to operate them independently
  • Diagnose and resolve backend issues including data inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks,  and integration failures
  • Support system continuity through careful change management, documentation, and monitoring
  • Own infrastructure resilience including backup validation and recovery procedures
  • Contribute to improving reliability, observability, and operational tooling

Integration and Data Architecture

  • Review and document existing data integration layers and produce a clear options analysis where improvements are required
  • Review ERP connections, data flows, and sync architecture and document them full
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between ERP systems and cloud services
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and performance across systems
  • Migrate credentials and access to a secure, centrally governed model

Quality and Documentation

  • Produce clear technical documentation for integrations, infrastructure, and data flows
  • Apply clean architecture principles and pragmatic engineering practices
  • Follow consistent practices in version control, change management, and operational tooling
  • Implement structured logging, monitoring, and error handling to support production operations

Required skills and experience

We are looking for a platform engineer with solid infrastructure and integration experience who

takes a methodical approach to their work, communicates clearly, and is comfortable owning

systems end to end.

Core technical skills:

  • Experience managing infrastructure including Linux, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure), and self-hosted environments OVH Cloud
  • Strong SQL skills, with experience in PostgreSQL and ideally SQL Server
  • Experience building and supporting backend systems in production
  • API integration and orchestration including REST, webhooks, and ETL pipelines
  • Database experience covering schema design, data migration, query optimisation, and data integrity
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems, ideally ERP
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows

Engineering practices:

  • Understanding of backend architecture and design patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Comfort working in environments where documentation does not yet exist
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and maintainability

Useful but not required:

  • ERP Brightpearl integration experience
  • Xero accountancy software API
  • Shopify Admin API and Amazon Marketplace API
  • Familiarity with Java-based backend applications
  • Containerisation and basic orchestration concepts
  • Exposure to ETL/ELT pipelines or data warehousing concepts
  • Prior involvement in platform transition programmes

What we offer

This is a fully remote role with the opportunity to own and shape core platform and integration

infrastructure across a growing multi-brand distribution business.

We operate in a collaborative, engineering-driven environment with a focus on practical outcomes,

clear communication, and long-term system quality.

Salary is £45,000 to £65,000 depending on experience. We welcome applications from

UK / Europe
