Payroll Client Manager – Fully Remote Accountancy Practice (UK)


Salary: £35,000–£40,000 DOE


We are working with a fully remote, fast-growing, tech-led accounting firm supporting high-growth and VC-backed businesses. Built around automation, modern systems and commercial thinking, they operate as a genuinely technology-driven practice delivering premium client service.


They’re now hiring a Payroll Client Manager to take full ownership of a defined payroll portfolio within a fully remote environment.


The role

  • End-to-end ownership of a payroll client portfolio
  • Managing monthly payroll processing (BrightPay Cloud)
  • RTI submissions, statutory payments and complex manual calculations
  • Workplace pensions, auto-enrolment and re-enrolment compliance
  • P11Ds and payrolling of benefits
  • Acting as the primary contact for payroll, pensions and HMRC queries
  • Ensuring payroll data integrates accurately with Xero and finance reporting
  • Supporting payroll system improvements and process optimisation


Essential experience

  • 5+ years’ UK payroll experience (practice or bureau preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions & P11Ds
  • High proficiency in BrightPay Cloud
  • Experience independently managing multiple payroll clients
  • Qualified by experience and/or CIPP Level 4+ (or working towards)
  • Established long-term remote or hybrid homeworking experience within a UK practice (Covid-only experience will not be considered)
