Senior Kubernetes/Go Engineer

12-month contract for a Senior Kubernetes/Go Engineer on a remote basis

• As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Cloud Infrastructure Compute team, you’ll be the technical leader for the lifecycle management of our Kubernetes compute platform.
• You will enable the Cloud Infrastructure organization to work efficiently and effectively by enhancing all aspects of the engineering experience.
• This compute platform is the foundation for all of the features that Cloud Infrastructure delivers in security, networking, developer experience, and efficiency.
• This compute platform ensures the consistency required to enable delivery across multiple cloud vendors.
• Your peers will rely on you to provide a quality platform that makes it easy to deliver quality features to our product teams across the company.
• Your team will provide the reliability, scalability, security, and developer experience necessary for infrastructure teams to deliver enhancements to the platform and product teams.

A Typical Day:

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Deliver enhancements that drive the cost efficiency of our cloud platform.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Contribute to the multi-year strategy to evolve client’s Cloud Platform
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the compute platform.

Your Expertise:

• BS, MS or Ph.D. in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 12+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure
• Extensive work experience with Go (Golang).
• 4+ years of expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g. EC2).
• Experience setting technical direction, planning, and successfully executing on large projects spanning multiple teams
• Advanced Kubernetes expertise, specifically: Hands-on experience writing Kubernetes controllers, experience building and working with admission webhooks.
• Istio/Envoy Experience is preferred.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, quality and developer experience.
