Principal Consulting Group is a growing consulting firm specializing in technical accounting, data analytics, IPO readiness, and finance transformation for early- to late-stage startups and mid-market companies. We are seeking a Analytics Engineer, to join our Data Analytics and Automation team, we specialize in designing and building dynamic dashboards that simplify complex data. This role will focus on transforming and modeling data within our data warehouse to support analytics, reporting, and business insights.


What You’ll Do

  • Transform and model raw data into clean, structured datasets for analytics and reporting
  • Develop and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt
  • Write efficient SQL queries to prepare and optimize datasets within the data warehouse
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through testing and validation
  • Support BI reporting by preparing datasets used in dashboards and visualization tools
  • Collaborate with analytics and data teams to understand business data requirements


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience working with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Amazon Redshift
  • SQL skills for data transformation, modeling, and performance optimization
  • Experience using DBT for analytics engineering workflows
  • Experience with BI or visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time contractor role


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with financial datasets or financial analytics


Work Arrangement

  • Part-time contractor role (10–20 hours per week)
  • Fully remote
